Giving Update: THANK YOU for Helping Us Donate 228,360 Meals!
If you’ve ordered supplies from our website at any point in the last two years, thank you so much! Because of your business, we’ve been able to donate 228,360 meals to kids in need through Feeding America.
Honestly, I still can’t believe that number, even as I write it. It feels incredible to know that the small business my dad started is having such a big, positive impact on the world! You might remember that last year we set an ambitious goal to donate a quarter of a million meals to Feeding America. We haven’t quite made it, but we’re getting closer every day! As I write this, we have just 21,640 meals to go.
We’ve gotten this far because last year, we donated 10 meals every time a chiropractor or physical therapist placed an order on our website. That got us to almost 200,000 meals by the end of 2022. In 2023, we diversified our giving a bit — but we’re still chugging away toward our goal. Every time you buy from our HeartNSoles insole or chiropractic T-shirt product lines, we donate 10 meals to kids in need.
When I wrote about this last, a few people asked me why I chose Feeding America from the thousands of charities out there. It’s a great question because many nonprofits aren’t as great as they seem. When you dig into it, they seem to be more about funneling money into their CEO’s pockets than giving back. With that in mind, my answer to the “Why Feeding America?” question is pretty simple: I love their mission, I trust that they’re the real deal (they have an impressive list of accreditations and partners), and I think they spread every dollar we send them a long way.
According to Feeding America’s website, each dollar donated provides at least 10 meals to hungry kids and families. They get that bang for their buck by working with food banks, food pantries, and local food programs that know how to spend donations most efficiently for their communities. As I write this, Feeding America is working with food banks in Hawaii to provide food to families who lost their homes in the Maui wildfires this summer, for example. Pretty cool, right?
On top of donating to Feeding America, we’ve done some chiropractor-centric charity work this year. A while back, we worked with one of our manufacturers, Pivotal Health Solutions, to donate a couple of portable tables to Dr. Peter Morgan’s Chiromissions. Pivotal Health made the tables and helped sponsor our donation!
If you haven’t heard of Chiromissions, I definitely recommend looking into it. Their chiropractors have taken more than 115 mission trips to countries like Haiti and the Dominican Republic to provide free chiropractic care to people who need it. I learned about Chiromissions from one of our clients (you know who you are — thank you for the tip!), and I can’t wait to help them again.
My team and I are always looking for new ways to give back to our community, and we particularly love working with chiropractic-related charities. If you know about an organization that could use our help, reach out and let us know! I’d love to learn more about them.
