Game-Changing Alliance: A Win for Patients, Athletes, and Chiros Alike
For Gabriel Burrell, the point has always been helping more patients.
Ever since he began to develop novel therapeutic products for his patients more than a decade ago, Burrell has strived to correct and heal problems with posture, injuries, and musculoskeletal aches and pains. Now, a new partnership between his company, PrimeKinetix of Searcy, Ark., and Chiro1Source is opening the door to exciting new markets that will vastly extend his company’s marketing reach.
“We are setting things up for an amazing 2025 and beyond,” Burrell says. “We are now a one-stop shop for any products our customers might need. It really is a win-win-win for doctors, patients, and both companies as well.” In his decades as a strength trainer and rehab specialist, Burrell has developed numerous posture training, back therapy, and massage devices.
With Chiro1Source, he is rolling out a new offering, DC Tape, a kinesiology tape specially designed for use by chiropractors. “A lot of the reluctance our doctors have had with regard to offering kinesiotaping in their clinics is confusion over the right way to apply the tape,” Burrell says. Different manufacturers recommend different methods of taping. “One manufacturer says this is how you tape the shoulder, another shows a different method, and somebody who is just getting into this ends up being really confused,” Burrell says.
To solve the problem, PrimeKinetix and Chiro1Source have partnered with two chiropractic doctors who are experts in extremities. These experts have provided input on developing a kinesiotape tailored specifically for chiropractors. They also produce videos showing how to apply it, enabling every doctor to add kinesiotaping to their services.
PrimeKinetix is also launching a second-generation device called the Power Palm, an electrical massage glove that “turns the palm of your hand into an electrical massage tool,” according to Burrell. This device is designed to fit the user’s hand better than the original product and offers two new features: therapeutic heat and more frequencies for electrostimulation. The improvements promise to make the Power Palm “an all-around, realistic, usable tool for athletes, doctors, and massage therapists,” Burrell says.
One of Burrell’s most successful inventions is Posture Medic, a device users wear to stretch the chest and anterior shoulder muscles and strengthen weak upper back muscles to hold the shoulders in place. Another is MyoBalls, a product that wraps extremities in a compression band lined with massage balls, easing plantar fasciitis, tight shin or calf muscles, carpal tunnel strain, and tennis or golfer’s elbow. Burrell also developed the PCore lower back brace, which offers hot or cold therapy and flexible or semi-rigid support in a single device.
The products offered by Chiro1Source and PrimeKinetix empower chiropractors to ease pain in a systematic three-step process — by facilitating myofascial release, supporting joints and tendons through taping, and applying topical analgesic, Burrell says. “Rather than masking the pain and covering it up, we are attacking pain in a three-step process and really knocking it out.”
PrimeKinetix has used the three-step process at pickleball tournaments and other events to help athletes complaining of tennis elbow or strained knees. The process is so effective that “these athletes can get back out there on the court and do well!”
